Promoting Positive Change for Children of All Ages & Abilities

Acorntree Psychology and Consultancy Service is an independent service founded by Dr Amanda Hull in 2014. We provide Educational Psychology for children, young people and adults in East Anglia, who face difficulty gaining access and making progress with their learning development.

An educational psychologist is someone who has been trained to understand how children learn, behave, think, feel and get on with others. We work in partnership with organisations, schools, groups, families and individual children.

“Your service is brilliant. Our school would be ‘stuck’ without your service. Thank you!” – Thetford Academy

“Overall we are exceedingly happy with the service we are being provided and can only hope that it will continue.” – Iceni Academy

Our service principles are:
  • inclusion, emotional well-being, raising attainment, and promoting positive behaviour
  • being clear about responsibilities and boundaries in our practice
  • engaging children in decisions affecting them to deliver positive change
  • working in partnership with parents and carers
  • considering the purpose of assessment to inform effective interventions
  • valuing feedback to inform practice and maintain a quality assured service
  • adhering to the professional, ethical and conduct codes by the Health and Care Professions Council and the British Psychological Society
Our mission statement:

We provide Educational Psychology services for children, young people and adults, who face difficulty gaining access to, and making progress with their learning development. We work in partnership with schools and parents in achieving a fully inclusive learning environment, by providing assessments for special educational needs and barriers to learning. Our goal is to promote and enable the needs of all young people to be met, understood and fully supported, so that each can reach their full potential in education.
