Our Assessment Process



Initial Consultation:
The Educational Psychologist will meet with parents or carers and with school staff to gather information and to help understand the current situation. (Due to Covid-19 social distance restrictions consultations are being conducted remotely via Zoom or telephone to reduce adult contact.)

Assessment:
The Educational Psychologist can do a number of things to help understand the current situation. They can: observe in class or at play, talk to the young person and gather their views, carry out assessments with the individual (examples can can include learning, cognitive, emotional, social, play based and sensory assessments).

Summary Report:
Following the visit, the Educational Psychologist will write a summary report of the assessment, and give conclusions and ideas of what to do next.
